Alex Clark was born on 30th June 1974 at the village of Shotley Bridge in county Durham in the North East of England. She is the eldest of two sisters and lives with her partner in a house close to the river Derwent. Never one to chase the limelight, Alex has always preferred her animals to do the talking. She has developed a deep affinity for the rolling countryside of her home that provides a backdrop to much of her work on sale today.
Her business is located in an old sawmill by the banks of the Derwent in the village of Ebchester where she has lived for all her life. It’s a natural haven for all sort of wildlife with weasels, otters and just about every garden bird you can imagine likely to schedule an appearance at any moment. It is an environment that perfectly compliments the artwork that she publishes today.

If you prefer less pattern but still want to make an impact, consider a highly textured rug, such as a monochromatic shag or a flokati, made of fluffy sheep skin. Tibetan rugs are also in vogue, favored for their simple motifs and strong, saturated colors—they go well with mid-century modern and contemporary furniture.
