Patio Tables with Sunshade

This totally unique patio table by Extremis puts an innovative twist on tradition in interior design. The Hopper table by designer Dirk Wynants was inspired by farmers, hoppers, long days in the fields and the communal celebrations that followed the harvest, at long rows of tables much like this. This modern variation features an industrial galvanized or powder-coated steel frame and exposed bolts, with a natural Iroko wood tabletop and benches. And we appreciate the version with the backrest rail! Also available with an integrated sunshade, this table is a great choice in open patio spaces where shade is scarce. The Hopper table is the recipient of the 2011 Interior Innovation Award and the coveted 2011 Red Dot “Best of the Best” Award. Continue Reading

Oriental Style Sofas Jalis

Designers Mark Jehs and Jurgen Laub put their heads together and came up with this cool, smart sofa design – the Jalis soft sofas by COR. “Jalis,” taken from Arabic, translates to “relaxed communication,” and a more fitting name there could not be. These Oriental style sofas were made for any interior and any situation, from casual lounging to formal entertaining. Designed to encourage social interaction, this soft sofa can be combined for a variety of layouts suited to any-sized space. The fine fabric provides support and style, and when the light hits it in a certain way you’ll appreciate a pattern of three-dimensional fine embroidery. The deep seats, cushy backrests and copious cushions deliver comfort and a contemporary signature interior style that transforms any room into a social hotspot.

Unusual bookcase designs become both storage solutions and partitions in this space designed by French h20 Architectes. They came with a unique idea to increase usability of this small 60 sq.m apartment. Before renovation, the unit was extremely tight, with a 5 sq.meter area allotted for the entrance. The existing walls bore various widths and thickness. As a solution, the bookcase designs that were built are diverse in dimensions to accommodate the various possessions of the client and are cleverly positioned to separate living spaces. Predominantly white, the apartment is made alive with dollops of orange, green, gray, and black. Continue Reading
